Without lowering, my opinion is you will be fine.

With a lowered height, it will be ify.

I am lowered 1.25" with neuspeed springs, running OZ Ultraleggeras (18x8 et45), and I had a slight rub in the front (only) which turned out to be the top screw for the wheel well liner. After I removed that fastener, no rubbing, but keep in mind you will be pushed out another 5 mm, and that may end up rubbing.

Unless you plan on rolling/modifying fender/fender liners, in my humble opinion, I would stick with 18x8 with a max offset of ET45.

Oh by the way, I'm running 225/40/18 Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 rubber.

99% sure they will NOT be flush. I remember someone here posting pics with a 35 offset and it poked slightly.

Just to clear up this common misconception. Offset is relative to wheel width. Et 35 on a 8" is completely different than et35 on a 9"

You will poke slightly. I know this from experience, not speculation.

IMO, I would go no lower than +40 on a 8" wide wheel.

Sorry but unless you run a ridiculous amount of camber like the car pictured above, yes it will poke slightly.

Again, I know this from experience ;)

Also, I know from experience, camber or not. Its not a problem. Et35 on a 8 is barely flush.

Whatever, ones mans junk stance is another's hellaflush. :w00t:

Also, if you have experience, how about a pic? ;) That way the OP really has good reference point on MK6.

I have 18x8 F +45 and added 10mm spacers to check fitment and see if I liked the look. I don't like rubbing so I took them off and I no longer have the spacers.

No offense to the hellaflush/stanced crowed but usually their views are usually skewed because they are always trying to push the limits. The average joe looking for wheels isn't up for the headaches associated with running aggressive offsets.
