Purchase

I've posted a group buy on these Turbo Oulet and Charge pipes in the for sale area. Not many people seemed to be interested so I ordered a set for myself. Some vendors sell the TOP and charge pipe because the factory pipes are pancaked in certain areas. The upgraded TOP and Charge pipe remove the pancaked areas, making the pipe smooth flowing and which should help airflow.

Install

Installation on these pipes seemed really easy but was a little difficult. I would say it would take about 1.5 to 2 hours to complete. I ran into some problems because my car is lowered and I was just using a single scissor jack, no jack stands, so I was trying to do work without really getting under the car. So prepare to lay on your back for some time. Another pain in the arse thing was removing all the screws... Pushing the pipe into the dry hoses took some effort, cursing and cuts on my hands.

Quality

Quality of the product is great. They are painted flat black with some etched material thats sort of rough. The clamps are T bolt, so they are higher quality than standard worm clamps. Beyond that, the pipe is just aluminum pipe... The pipes fit in place like OEM, did not require any modification or tweaking.

Performance

Its been 2 days since I installed both pipes, so I've had a good amount of testing done. I can confidently say there's improvement. Although I'm sure theres SOME improvement throughout the entire power band, majority of the improvement I felt was between 2,000-3,000 rpm. Transitioning onto boost is quicker and motor just feels more peppy. Heck the motor sounds a little deeper as well around 4k rpm.

Final Thought

I would recommend this mod to anyone who has already done the 'big' mods, such as downpipe, tune, intake. The improvement is there but its not the same amount as installing an intake or big mods. The improvement I would say is on pair with torque mount insert, or an S3 short shifter, small but noticeable.

I didn't take photos during install because my hands were filthy, so here are a couple after the install.

Your front charge pipe looks identical to my Neuspeed pipe. I'm sure it is, actually. +1 to you for saving some cash over name brand.

I have some BSH brand pipes sitting in my basement...you have inspired me to get my ass out in the garage and install them.

I have the AWE TOP and the Nuespeed throttle body pipe... There is no difference in power or feel. I think your butt dyno is suffering from the new part placebo effect.

No placebo effect, maybe some of you are just expecting a big difference with changing these pipes.

Change is small and probably not worth it for some of you but I think otherwise as it helps where you need it most in DD. As I mentioned originally, I wouldn't suggest this being the first mod for anyone, should be done down the road...

225 group buy price, over 350 regular.

Regular from where? These aren't Neuspeed or AWE.

That's like saying $350 GB LED tail replica, regular $700 from VW.

I'm interesting in trying one of these out only for the fact that there seems to be such differentiating opinions about them. If I don't like them I could sell I guess.

We'll see, thanks for the review thought, the more opinions the better.
