Blacked out Grill stripes & Rear Emblem

Today was another slow saturday... Time Warner Cable service went down hard! I have phone, Tv and internet from them... they're sending out a tech monday! So I decided to do some small mods...

Started off spraying the red stripes in the grill... They were pretty simple to remove once you gave it a thought. Push up the black tab and from inside the grill push the red tab out... I used plastic dip to spray it. I noticed that giving it two coats gave a rougher look... So I just went with 1 heavy coating.

To remove the rear emblem, I used a credit card... I suggest using something you don't mind trashing because my card is done now The emblem has little tabs in the center which pop easily, and it also has a "bump" type tab or whatever around the outside...

Everything took about 2 hours going really slow and taking a nap in the middle

Did you get a small amount of texture on the strips? I removed them and sprayed, but it was a lot of cratering so i peeled the plasti-dip off and sprayed a really light coat and it seemed to do much better. I still got a small amount of texture though. Did this also happen to you? :iono:

No the red strips came out clean and smooth. The VW emblem is another story...
