Intro:
I have a 2011 VW GTI. It has the sunroof/navigation package (right below the autobahn version at the time). I do not have the "LED" running lights that you see in the 2012+ models. I have the 194 "city lights".
I was looking for a DRL setup that did NOT use my HID bulbs. I did not want to modify any wiring and/or the bumper in any way. I wanted the DRLs to come on automatically with the car and for the car to consider them the actual "DRL", so they would turn off with the car.
Note: I do NOT have a "bulb out" warning in the dash -- these have built in resistors. You will need VCDS to turn off your HID bulbs and turn these on instead.
