Ok, now for the ultimate:
Are there any plans for AWE to move their K04 kit to the MK6? This would be a huge thumbs up, but what would compliment it even more is if APR had a K04 tune for it, or even a K04 Kit. I know it has been discussed over on the golfmkv.com and vwvortex.com board but that seemed to have died rather quickly.
Arin, do you have any comments? or Todd? or somebody?
I think a K04 would be a great step below a stage 3 for those who couldnt afford the ZOMG bonerific all out power. It would be a good daily driver with at least 300whp (providing supporting mods) and affordable with a tag of $2500-$3000 for a kit (software included)
Just an idea.

UPDATE: Seems AWE has the kit for the MKV for $2000. Add another $300 for existing APR customers for the software and BAM $2300 for a nice K04 kit. (Again, providing you have intercooler, TBE, intake etc.) Easy 300WHP

UPDATE: Here's a good comparison of Stage 3 vs the K04 kit. Lets take the kits and all (And i mean ALL) supporting mods.
K04: AWE TSI Kit, AWE CCB, AWE TBE, S3 Intercooler = $4995 This does not include shipping or installation costs. That can easily tack on about another $500-$1000. The nearest dealer is in Atlanta so even if I did install it myself I would have a 2.5 hour drive ahead of me to get the software done. Maybe they offer shipping of the ECU, but even then that's a pain in the ass to remove. Buying Bulk discounts?
~360hp, 355ft-lbs crank
APR: APR Stage 3 kit, Intercooler, Stage 1 Intake (no stage 2 needed, it comes with nifty MAF tubing), Midpipe (Comes with a downpipe) = $6850 No shipping since I live in Auburn and APR HQ is just 3 miles away. Bulk Discounts?
~370hp, 385ft-lbs crank
If APR can offer a K04 solution for roughly $5000 including supporting mods, I would probably not hesitate. Or hell, maybe even just software. But then theres issues dealing with AWE warranty vs. APR warranty. blah blah blah. It would be easier for APR to sell a K04 Kit and have a middle of the road solution. But one could argue Stage 3 kit sales.....who knows maybe somebody can shed some light to further this research.
Plus its all covered under warranty at most dealers. (I believe that's what Jack Ingram's said. All APR products are covered....probably does not include stage 3).
When you put everything into perspective, then it starts making sense.
