More ignorance. Viruses and bacteria are carried in respiratory droplets. Masks absolutely reduce the number and distance those droplets travel. These are basic infection control principles. So again, where did you get your medical training?

The virus is predominantly carried by droplets and aerosols too small for consumer grade masks to effectively filter. In other words, THE VIRUS CAN PASS THROUGH NON-N95 MASKS.

In pooled analysis, we found no significant reduction in influenza transmission with the use of face masks (RR 0.78, 95% CI 0.51–1.20; I2 = 30%, p = 0.25)

What the mask does is limit on how far your lung butter can travel. People spit all the time when they talk.

Larger droplets yes, however they're almost useless at stopping aerosols, or any droplet 62 microns and below..

The group said the United States must follow Germany, Austria, and France—countries that recently mandated respiratory protection equivalent to N95 filtering facepiece respirators (FFRs) and higher-quality filtration systems for all workers in public.

Again, you're talking about preventing the wearer for being infected, not reducing the amount and distance droplets travel. Again, this isn't new. It isn't controversial. It's the very reason we use masks in the OR.

You're as willfully ignorant as zrickety.

Then you shouldn't be liking posts.

If I posted a message saying that Jim was great, then you'd like it.

If the link I included in that post really said that Jim is an asshole, the liking that post isn't the greatest idea.
I don't give a "like" for a post with a link that I didn't read. Stop the false accusations. Scroll
back a few posts I gave Zrick a like for a post and explained it so you'll stop making false accusations. And I shouldn't have to explain why I like a post either.

That's Jim's default when he's backed into a corner in an argument. It's BS.

I didn't say it was new or controversial, you're the one trying to debate it as if it is. Go educate yourself. If you're not using an N95 mask in OR, you're not safe from COVID, nor are the people you come in contact with. Period.

Read the post directly above that one you posted.
I answered that.

Jim, you can say what you want, but everyone can see you've repeatedly default to "I don't care enough to read or research" when you get backed into a corner. Or you'll demand people answer you, but say you don't have to reply when you get backed into a corner. It's pretty predictable.
