I don't drive our gti that much but I notice that it has a rather stinky exhaust. My wife tends to under drive it and I figure that that is the cause, but I've never had such a stinky exhaust. Is this normal for a VW? I've had lots of other cars over the years and have never noticed this...

Actually the wrx is only a tune away from the sti power level. The stock wrx is tuned for 91 and the stock sti is tuned on 93.... The sti also has a slightly bigger tmic. dan

I think I can chime in here. I have an 09 wrx(stage2) and I just bought the wife a MY11 dsg gti. IMO the gti is "better" in only a few ways, and even they are questionable. The gti has a nicer looking and feeling interior and the stereo sounds much better, but the wrx has easier to use controls...
