Just keeping this thread alive. Fronts appear to sag a little more than I expected, but the rates are excellent, and the rear ride height is perfect.

Kept clean pace with a handful of $70–85K cars today on the fast cruise, half of them with seasoned drivers.

I’m running the GTI Eibach Linear Pro-kit springs with Koni yellows and the drop is very similar to the A3/S3 034 springs. The added caster from the 034 LCA might add a tad more of a drop.

Had to artificially brighten up the photos since it is in a dark parking garage. Forgive me

Bummer they ended up dropping the front so much. I was really hoping these would be the answer to the problem of wanting higher spring rate, but not slamming the car on the bumpstops.

You and me both, friend! This has been devastating after all the planning and research I put into them. 🤦‍♂️

I’m actually hunting stock 2019 Golf R springs (22mm drop from a GTI, 216lb/in rate vs 175) and stock 8V RS3 springs.

It’s that or I spring for $1200-1700 Coilovers with adjustable damping and sell off my current setup, but I’m so in love with these B8s! I don’t want to part with them. 🙄🥺😢😩

Your timing could not be more perfect! I’ve been debating throwing on the Eibach Golf R Springs I have sitting here (still in box).

Is there any chance you can dig up the part number you have for the springs in the photo?

Just so I can cross reference it to what I have here. It would save me 4–5 hours of time tomorrow, from having to install my Eibachs only to be disappointed. 🙏

This is a picture of a customer with the Golf R Eibach (linear) springs I installed for him at my shop. 2023 VW GLI with the DCC suspension, springs have maybe 5000 miles on them. Pictures are from today.

225/45R18 tires, meaning they are the exact same diameter as the 245/40 Michelins I run.

For anyone who knows:

…is there a design or dimension difference on the DCC cars that would make them sit differently, such as the spring perch being higher, or the overall strut assembly being longer? 🤷‍♂️

Note: the rear of his car will sit higher than normal because of the rear spring pads we installed at his request.

His front is the height that I am looking for.

Have you ever looked into these? You can choose the spring rates, and obviously adjust your ride height.

I hate that they're double the cost of basic springs, but it's the only option I've found to get a higher rate without loosing too much travel. If you can find used Golf R springs, that's probably the bang for your buck option.

Thank you for the share! All the other HAS setups are $750-800 so the GCs are actually a good value. Unfortunately (at that price) it becomes more cost conscious to just sell off my B8s and move to Coilovers for the adjustable dampening.

I sent emails out to ST and Bilstein tonight to start the discussion. ST XAs are on sale right now, and can be ordered with custom spring colors. Bilstein B16s are what I've always wanted but never "needed" until now.

ST XA direct info w/customization options: Click me for German suspension p*rn

And Bilstein B16s (which everyone should know about by now)... B16s on sale right now @ TireRack...if you can wait 3 short months

I have the box in storage but here is a photo of the order from Amazon UK.

I can take better photos today. I would agree 100% with Eibach the front is a 25-30mm front and 15-20mm rear.

When looking at those wheel photos, I’ll point out I run a 235/40 wheel which is a few MM taller than your 245/40 tires.

I have had these 3 Eibach Pro-kits on my NA '17 GTI SE DSG. The ride heights are actual measurements from my car (center of wheel to fender).

My favourite set is the R set. All have been installed w/ Bilstein B8s.

That drop on the R springs isn't too bad, but from what I remember, the eibach springs are all close to the stock rates. I'm looking for, and probably so is Goat, essentially a stiffer stock spring, with a minimal drop.

@GoatAutomotive Did you install the magride or non-magride 034 springs? I wonder how their Golf R springs would be on a GTI.

Non MR. I confirmed part numbers twice before pulling the trigger.

And yes, stiffer is needed for us track rats! 🏎️

Folks asked about measurements for the static ride heights on these 034 S3 springs...this morning was the first time the car has been parked on a flat, level slab to take true measurements. I only checked the left side (driver), and here are the findings:

[Wheel hub center to fender lip]
Front: 12.8" = ~325mm
Rear: 13.8" = ~350mm

[Using 245/40R18 Michelin PS4S rubber on 18x8.5" wheels...]

Rear is just under a 2-finger gap (which is actually my target for how this car gets used)
Front is no-finger...you have to snake your index up and over it, maybe buy it a drink first and play some Sade or Barry White.

No bueno!

Target: 350mm all around, +/- 5mm and I will be one happy goat...

First pic: sloped driveway, car backed in, @$$ facing uphill.

Pics 2-3: semi flat parking lot a week or so ago.
