BCRacing Coilovers with DCC

Tomorrow I am installing bcracing coil kit but my car has dcc. I have not bought a dcc canceller. I have had mixed results in my search on whether it affects anything. I do not want to pay 200+ for the canceller and I don’t mind the error code as long as it doesn’t affect anything. Any have any experience with this?

Buddy of mine did this on his car. He ended up getting the cancellers. Assume your GTI is an Autobahn ?
