I have a Dell G5 dekstop purchased in Dec 21. Recently after logging in the screen goes black and does not connect. Tried new HDMI and it still happens. Opened up case and blew everything out with air. Once in a while I will hard restart/unplug/plug HDMI back in and it will work. Have done updates and it ran fine for a few weeks. A friend mentioned that it might be the motherboard. I purchased a new videocard and it still happens. Mainly use it to stream TV and surf the internet. Ran maintenance check and this is the concerning event:

once the screen goes black can you still open task manager using ctrl + alt + delete? if everything works normally until you log in then it sounds like a software/driver issue

For your use case, I'd get a new Mac mini for $500 and be done with it.

Heard a "zaaaaaappppzzzzzzzz" then one of the fans run full blast and black screen of death. Computer still powers on, just nothing on screen. I updated the GPU drivers earlier.
Just bought mini desktop. Good enough.
