Golf MK6 lower front grille trim

I am looking at replacing these parts for a honeycomb style grille, I have heard that these parts just 'pull' out, with a bit of a tug, but just wanted to confirm if that was the case?

On a Golf, yes, they pull right out:

(on a GTI, you have to pull the bumper off)
