Gutting DPF (HP Gains?)

So has anyone with a MK6 2.0 TDI (stage 1) had any HP gains from gutting their DPF?

You will have to tune it to delete the DPF, whether you "gut" it or remove it is the same. And yes you will get gains in power from the tune.

If you just yank the guts out of the DPF you will get CELs just like removing a cat and probably some decent issues from the car still running regen cycles but there not being anything to regen. Plus pretty sure the ECU would throw a hissy fit thinking something wasn't working right and actually cut power.

Ok thankyou. So id need the garage or wherever to "tune" it first then? Also what would be the best way forward to avoid the CEL issues? Thanks

The tune will remove the CEL as part of the remap and DPF delete. Reach out to these guys and they will answer all your questions and get you on the right path.
