Why would you coat aluminum end tanks? Are they trying to keep the cold air away and the hot air in? Because ambient air is going to be cooler than what's inside those end tanks.

I get coating the IC piping like the charge air pipe that runs behind the radiator and near the motor. That pipe is in contact with heat greater than what is in the piping.
