Up for grabs: custom deadest kit I put together for the front of the MQB cars. Brand new kit, still in its packaging.

Applications: 2015-2021 GTI and Golf R. Should work on Jetta, Golf base and Beetle, but I haven’t gotten to test it on those yet. (@MonkeyMD should come see me for a mock-up!)

Kit includes:

4x ARP T-304 stainless bolts (same specs as OE)

4x ARP washers

1x ARP grease pack for the threads and bolt heads

8x aluminum centering pieces for the sub frame (4 bottom-specific, 4 top-specific)

Price reflects the added cost for re-usable ARP hardware that will NEVER fatigue or fail on you.

Same materials and technologies found in the ARP head bolts, studs and fasteners for race motors, and likely NASA rockets and aviation.

BUY IT IF…

-You hate 1-time use TTY bolts

-Your camber/caster is off side to side from the subframe being wonky

-You suspect you might be doing your suspension mods in stages

-You’re already making changes to the chassis to get the setup you really want

-You have top drop your subframe for a clutch job or FSB install

-You want to get serious about tracking your car

If 1 or 2 of the above sound like you, then this kit is worth your time and investment.

INSTALL: The 034 install instructions work well: https://www.034motorsport.com/docs/...locking-collar-install-guide-034-601-0028.pdf

Final torque the subframe bolts to 60-65lb/ft using the ARP grease methods (lightly grease the bolt head/washer combo). You can use additional greased on the bolt threads, or blue Loctite if you prefer.

(Professional installation is available w/warranty if you're in central Texas)

PRICE: $175 picked up locally, or $185 shipped to the lower 48.

Price is firm. I have a ton of time and research in this. The end results are excellent for the cost.

Before anyone cries about price or tries to negotiate, here are your alternatives for deadest kits right now:

TyrolSport: $285, by far the nicest and most expensive. If you have the money to burn, jump on it: https://www.tyrolsport.com/suspensi...r-mk7/mk8/gti/golfr/mqb/a3/s3/8v/8y/rs3/ttrs/

034 Motorsports: $144, reasonably priced, but with 1-time use OE VW TTY bolts that only cost ~$35-40 (total) @ your VW dealer. So $100 for their locking collars. If you don’t think you’ll ever remove your subframe more than once, you can use this kit and be fine.

Spulen: $126-155…not a great track record for quality or fitment with their other parts on these cars. Collars look promising, but they only give you 2 of the 4 TTY bolts. Why!? [Jackie Chan meme here] Keep shopping.

CTS: $195, by far the worst option…incomplete, doesn’t even include all of the needed locking collars.
They give you 6 of the 8 required collars, and bolts are an optional add-on.

Waste of $200 - https://www.ctsturbo.com/product/cts-mqb-mk7-mk8-8v-8y-8s-front-subframe-bushing-kit/

So there you go. All your options laid out. Choose wisely. And thanks for looking! 🍻 😎

PS - Last 2 pics show the [previous] kit I installed on Stormy. Same parts, I just ordered multiple pieces and used her as a testbed. Sharing here for transparency, and so there's no confusion.
