Hi all,
I have a 2012 Mk6 Golf 1.6 TDI Match (I’m in the UK) and the dimming interior rear-view mirror has recently stopped dimming. It’s the OEM mirror and was factory-fitted as standard.
I’ve tried covering the sensor facing through the windscreen with black tape and shining a light on the rear-viewing sensor using a torch to test it, but nothing happens.
It’s turned-on ok as the little green LED beneath the glass is glowing, but this is puzzling me - the LED is flickering faintly. I don’t ever recall seeing a LED indicator flickering, unless it’s meant to, and I’m pretty sure this one isn’t meant to. It’s very faint flickering - you can only see it from up close which is when I noticed it.
The mirror itself looks absolutely fine - there are no signs of damage on the body or glass.
I did replace the halogen lights in the overhead light cluster with LEDs a few months ago, but the mirror has been working fine since then, up until a couple of weeks ago.
Anyone have any ideas, or should I just get a replacement mirror?
Thanks
