LED license plate lights

Hi there,

I have replace my license plate light bulbs with some LED light but it shows on the dashboard that I have an error license plate light bulbs. Is that because the LED light provide 12v and consume 2.2 w. Instead of the actual one that are 12v and 5w??

Please advice and will it fix the problem if I changed my LED bulb into something that are 12v and 5w?

Tons of posts on this subject ---- there are lights that won't throw a code. Pyspeed has them.

You need resistors.
